Welcome. My name is Vivien and I’m a photographer and writer.

Here’s a brief introduction to who I am and what I do.

My father always had a camera slung around his neck, forever asking us to pause on vacation so he could capture us “in action”. On walks, my mother continually stopped to look at flowers or mushrooms, so it’s no surprise these influences crept into my psyche. Now I’m stooped closely to admire nature’s details or stepping back to enjoy grand vistas, attempting to create a picture that captures the magic moment or memory along the way, though I’m more inclined to photograph nature than people.

My ten-year stint as a New York museum docent gifted me with a remarkable art education and introduced me to the pleasure of engaging and conversing with the public about ideas and learning. Now, writing textile-adjacent book reviews for the Surface Design Association engages my nerd brain and my love of writing. As a volunteer trainer at the Teton Raptor Center, I have the opportunity to introduce people to raptors, a position that combines my love of nature and education into one.

Look for me in the Tetons, where I’ll be using the phrase, “Gosh, that’s just so beautiful” multiple times a day. My husband will patiently be waiting for me to catch up to him on the trail.
